About the Role
NV5 is seeking a Survey Manager who will lead with precision and purpose. The role involves managing and mentoring survey teams, overseeing all phases of survey projects—from design and coordination to data collection and reporting—and delivering accurate, timely insights that inform strategic decisions. The manager will collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to turn complex data into actionable reports and drive measurable impact through leadership, innovation and data excellence. • Collaborate with clients to define project objectives, develop timelines, allocate resources, and estimate budgets. • Identify project risks and create mitigation strategies. • Recruit, train, and supervise survey teams, assigning tasks and providing ongoing guidance. • Select appropriate survey methods and tools such as GPS, total stations, and LiDAR for data collection. • Implement quality‑control procedures to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies. • Oversee data analysis and interpretation, working with analysts to extract meaningful insights. • Produce clear, comprehensive survey reports that meet client and regulatory requirements. • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, permits and industry standards. • Monitor project budgets, track expenditures and pursue cost‑saving opportunities. • Maintain regular communication with clients and stakeholders, addressing updates and scope changes. • Keep organized project documentation, including field notes and data records. • Stay current with surveying technology and maintain equipment and software functionality. • Promote and enforce safety and environmental protocols to protect team members and surroundings.

What You Bring
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, geography, civil engineering or a related field. • Possess utility industry experience and a proven record of managing survey projects. • Obtain professional licensure or certification as required by jurisdiction or industry. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of surveying methods, equipment and software. • Exhibit excellent project management, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. • Be proficient in data analysis, reporting and familiar with relevant regulations and safety protocols. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Benefits
The position offers a base salary in California of $140,000 – $170,000 per year, with potential adjustments based on knowledge, skills, experience and location, plus possible restricted stock units.
