About the Role

The Senior M/E Engineer provides overall direction and expertise in estimating, scheduling, quality control, and commissioning for mechanical and electrical scopes. This role manages M/E personnel, collects and assembles data, develops estimates, performs systems and bid analysis, and pursues new business opportunities. • Participate in safety and quality programs and mentor others for an injury‑free environment. • Perform entry‑level mechanical, electrical, and field construction tasks. • Develop budgetary M/E estimates using automated estimating tools. • Review mechanical and electrical options in preconstruction and conduct systems analysis. • Create mechanical and electrical scopes of work for bid coordination. • Assist with bid analysis and provide input for subcontractor selection. • Develop sequencing requirements and propose solutions to meet project schedules. • Identify potential quality issues from design documents and contribute to constructability reviews. • Conduct job inspections to ensure specifications, quality, and timeliness are met. • Support shop drawing and submittal processes to comply with contract documents. • Assist commissioning by preparing pre‑functional checklists and functional testing procedures. • Execute increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities. • Recommend optimal systems and offer value‑engineering suggestions. • Provide scheduling input and develop system sequencing solutions. • Review designs, identify quality concerns, and develop quality‑control programs. • Develop and verify pre‑functional checklists and functional testing procedures. • Review and approve shop drawings before submission to the design team. • Generate and issue commissioning plans, verify deficiency corrections, and submit documentation to owners. • Mentor less‑experienced co‑workers and promote continuous improvement tools. • Negotiate subcontracts and purchase equipment for assigned projects. • Serve as the primary client liaison and represent the M/E department at external events. • Allocate resources, staff projects, and ensure reimbursability compliance. • Champion diversity, inclusion, and non‑discrimination policies within the organization. • Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications accurately. • Apply construction management fundamentals and Lean processes to projects. • Manage budgets, maximize profitability, and generate future work through relationships. • Build and maintain internal and external relationships; lead project teams.

What You Bring

A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering or a related field is required, with equivalent experience considered. The position prefers candidates with ten or more years of construction management experience.
