About the Role

• Serve in a lead technical role on bridge design projects. • Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects. • Design bridges (steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, segmental, cable), box culverts, and interchanges for highway and railway projects. • Act as technical specialist or Project Manager on mid‑size projects and supervise junior engineers.

What You Bring

HDR is hiring an experienced and licensed Senior Bridge Engineer for our Transportation Business Group. This position can be based out of our Louisville, Lexington or Elizabethtown, KY offices. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and familiarity with engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB‑MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, ADINA, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 10 years bridge design experience, a Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license, and proven hands‑on experience in all aspects of bridge design projects, along with proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and a wide range of engineering software. • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering. • Familiarity with engineering software such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB‑MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, ADINA, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge. • Bachelor’s degree. • Minimum 10 years bridge design experience. • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. • Proven hands‑on experience in all aspects of bridge design projects. • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages listed above. • Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bentley OpenBridge Designer/Modeler, Autodesk InfraWorks, and Civil3D. • Experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, and prestressed concrete design tools. • Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills; ability to work in team environments. • Project management skills desirable. • Ability to serve as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design.
