About the Role

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of projects, managing budgets, contracts, and change orders, leading project staff, and ensuring quality, risk, safety, and compliance through project completion. • Manage overall project financial health, including subcontracts and suppliers. • Develop and maintain financial projections and allocate estimates in the financial system. • Determine cost codes, approve invoices, and provide billing information to Accounting. • Create monthly owner billings and manage contract buyouts. • Oversee budget selection of trade partners and suppliers. • Lead and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, assigning jobs and supporting career development. • Approve on‑site team timecards and give performance feedback. • Serve as primary contact with owners and on‑site representatives, reviewing agreements and resolving site issues. • Execute and manage change orders, securing approvals from owners/architects. • Maintain schedule and budget through project completion, ensuring quality, risk, safety, compliance, and relationship building.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering or construction management, or possess equivalent experience, and have a valid driver’s license. They must be able to travel up to 100%, demonstrate detailed orientation, basic knowledge of construction law, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, and effective communication, including active listening and inclusive behaviors. Project Manager I requires a minimum of six years of construction management experience, with a base pay range of $113,500 to $170,300. Project Manager II requires at least seven years of experience on large projects exceeding $20 million, with a base pay range of $132,100 to $198,200, adjusted upward for certain office locations. Visa sponsorship is not offered; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Mortenson does not accept unsolicited agency communications. • Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering, or construction management, or equivalent experience. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%. • Minimum six years (PM I) or seven years (PM II) of construction management experience; PM II experience on projects > $20M. • Detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant project web applications. • Strong communication, active listening, and inclusive collaboration skills. • Knowledge of EE‑O, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans.
