About the Role

The Chelmsford, Massachusetts office is hiring New Graduate Engineers for summer 2026 to work on the region’s biggest public transportation projects. These engineers will assist in producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. The role involves research, development, calculations, design, and delivery in partnership with the project team. Engineers will complete assigned work within the schedule and allocated hours, supporting the preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations. They will assist in developing quantity and cost estimates and provide organizational and administrative support for design files. Additional tasks include research, data collection, field investigations, and development work for project delivery. • Design fiber optic, radio, and data network systems (Communications Systems). • Contribute to control systems, CCTV, and passenger information systems (Communications Systems). • Support development of specifications, cost estimates, and CAD drawings (Communications Systems). • Develop signal block layouts and interlocking designs (Signals and Train Control). • Design highway grade crossing warning systems (Signals and Train Control). • Support microprocessor and relay‑based control system design (Signals and Train Control). • Assist in substation design and electrical system analysis (Traction Power). • Perform load flow, short circuit, and arc‑flash studies (Traction Power). • Support integration of traction power with other transit systems (Traction Power). • Design catenary systems and structural supports (Overhead Contact Systems). • Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, and material lists (Overhead Contact Systems). • Evaluate integration of OCS with track and other transit systems (Overhead Contact Systems).

What You Bring

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Candidates should be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar software. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, and a strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.
