About the Role
The role is based in the United States on multi‑billion‑dollar data‑centre programmes for some of the largest developers and end‑users. You will be embedded in highly skilled, multidisciplinary teams, delivering commercial support such as monthly pay applications, change order reviews, financial reporting and on‑site decision making. The position provides cost‑management services from inception to completion across various sectors, supporting specific areas or disciplines with sound technical capabilities. You will be responsible for feasibility studies, procurement strategy, value management, cost planning, contract documentation and administration, as well as cost control, reporting and valuation throughout the contract lifecycle. You will assist in contractor selection, prepare financial reports, identify costs linked to design changes and construction activities, evaluate delay and additional‑cost claims, and issue certificates of completion. The role also includes delivering process improvements, mentoring junior staff, seeking continuous improvement, and managing stakeholder relationships while contributing to net‑zero carbon transition goals. • Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies. • Apply value management techniques early in projects. • Manage estimating and cost planning, and present the final cost plan. • Assist in the procurement and selection of the main contractor. • Prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds, licenses and facilitate execution. • Administer building contract terms and provide valuations and variation adjustments. • Deliver cost control and reporting throughout the contract period. • Prepare financial reports for the client as required. • Identify all costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges. • Participate in evaluating contractor delay and additional‑cost claims. • Issue certificates of practical completion and negotiate final accounts. • Drive improvements in systems, processes and transformational change. • Mentor and guide junior cost consultants and other team members. • Develop and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Support net‑zero carbon transition and manage associated emissions. • Effectively manage stakeholders and build key relationships.

What You Bring
A degree in quantity surveying or cost management (or equivalent) and professional membership or pursuit of MRICS/RICS are required. Candidates must understand sustainability, social value and carbon reduction, possess strong knowledge of industry best practice, and have experience with diverse contract forms and administration. Proven cost consultancy experience, strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills, digital competence and the ability to manage stakeholders are essential. • Hold a degree in quantity surveying or cost management (or equivalent). • Be a member of, or working towards, MRICS/RICS professional status. • Understand sustainability, social value and carbon reduction issues. • Possess strong knowledge of industry best practice and contract administration. • Demonstrate proven cost consultancy experience including cost planning, budgeting and estimating. • Exhibit strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills. • Be digitally competent and able to implement improved working practices.

Benefits
