About the Role
The role focuses on championing a safety culture by leveraging MESH tools, safety best practices, and encouraging all employees to take responsibility for their own safety and that of others. It involves leading the use of EBS practices, including MESH, ELSS, and EQS, with a strong emphasis on meeting both internal and external customer needs. The Tiered Meeting process is employed to monitor key operational metrics and drive performance improvements. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include directing production activities such as manpower movement, job assignments, and managing time, attendance, and vacation data. The incumbent leads cross‑functional Continuous Improvement Teams, applying the Continuous Improvement Framework and ELSS tools to enhance operational performance across the value stream. • Promote a safety culture using MESH, ELSS, and EQS tools and empower employee safety ownership. • Lead production area operations, managing manpower, job assignments, attendance, and vacation. • Conduct tiered meetings to track key metrics and implement operational improvements. • Head cross‑functional Continuous Improvement Teams and apply ELSS tools to enhance performance. • Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and maintain access to export‑controlled information.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and possess a minimum of two years of operations/manufacturing experience, including at least one year of team or project leadership. Additional requirements include three years of aerospace manufacturing experience, two years of people‑management experience, and the ability to read, write, and converse in English. The position requires legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship and access to export‑controlled information. Applicants should be located within a 50‑mile radius of Beltsville, MD, though active‑duty military members are exempt from this restriction. The role may require weekend work and demands proficiency with Microsoft Office, familiarity with MRP systems, and the ability to lead in a matrix environment while balancing multiple priorities. • Hold a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of manufacturing/operations experience, including aerospace. • Demonstrate at least one year of team or project leadership and two years of people‑management experience. • Possess strong English communication skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, and familiarity with MRP systems. • Ability to prioritize, balance objectives, and lead effectively in a matrix environment. • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; reside within 50 mi of Beltsville, MD (military exemption applies).
