About the Role
• Develop mechanical designs and construction plans for new or modified facilities. • Monitor project status, schedule, and cost, providing weekly reports. • Create fluid and thermal analysis models, component calibrations, and test data packages for rocket propulsion testing. • Design, route, and analyze fluid subsystems (propellant feed, pressurization, pneumatics, discharge, capture) and component groups (valves, regulators, pressure vessels). • Perform dimensional, thermal, structural, and qualification analyses using design software. • Conduct system‑level testing, including test planning, execution, data reduction, and analysis. • Estimate project schedules and costs; develop heat‑load and flow models for cryogenic and gas systems. • Review vendor submittals, RFIs, and change orders to transition designs to construction. • Execute trade studies and conceptual designs to support site‑wide improvements. • Provide engineering support to other departments as needed.

What You Bring
Candidates must be U.S. citizens, possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to lift 50 lb. They must provide proof of citizenship at hire and meet standard office‑equipment dexterity requirements. • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (ABET accredited); MS preferred. • 1‑4 years of mechanical engineering experience with knowledge of fluid components and fabrication processes. • Working knowledge of ASME B31.3 piping and ASME BPVC Section VIII pressure‑vessel codes (preferred). • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Visual BASIC, FORTRAN, C a plus. • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills; ability to work independently and present to large groups. • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a NASA badge and provide required identification documents. • Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lb.
