About the Role
The Resident Engineer – Tunneling will join the Hudson Tunnel project, overseeing the construction, maintenance, and operation of tunnels and ventilation shafts, and ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and adherence to project specifications. • Manage planning, design, construction, and maintenance phases of tunnel and ventilation shaft projects. • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery. • Provide technical expertise in tunneling methods, design review, and material selection. • Implement QA/QC procedures, inspect workmanship, and address specification deviations. • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to uphold safety and quality standards. • Identify risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans for tunneling operations. • Liaise with government agencies, contractors, consultants, and local communities to resolve issues and align goals. • Monitor budgets, expenditures, and resource allocation; identify cost‑saving opportunities. • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and implement waste‑management and pollution‑control measures. • Maintain accurate project records, including documentation, inspection reports, and compliance certificates. • Prepare progress reports and presentations for stakeholders and senior management.

What You Bring
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a construction‑related field and 15+ years of field construction experience. • Possess 10+ years of tunneling, underground construction, or ventilation engineering experience. • Demonstrate proficiency with project management software, AutoCAD, MATLAB, ANSYS, and related tools. • Exhibit strong communication, leadership, problem‑solving, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.

Benefits
