About the Role

The role involves supporting construction projects by observing field activities, testing various materials, performing calculations and data reduction, and drafting reports. You will also operate field screening equipment, read maps, interpret engineering plans, and maintain daily communication with contractors, technicians, and project managers, ultimately gaining confidence to serve as the sole ECS representative on site. • Observe and document field activities during construction. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Perform calculations, reduce test data, and draft reports. • Operate field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Serve as the sole ECS representative on project sites. • Provide reliable transportation for site travel (mileage reimbursed).

What You Bring

Candidates must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field and demonstrate an interest in how building materials are utilized. The position requires the ability to lift 40–70 lb repeatedly (occasionally 85 lb to waist height) and to provide reliable transportation for site travel, with mileage reimbursed. Relocation assistance is not provided, and compensation ranges from $16 to $20 per hour, based on location and qualifications. • Pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. • Lift 40–70 lb repeatedly or occasionally lift 85 lb to waist height.
