About the Role
The Senior Data Architect role invites hands‑on technical work as part of Baker Hughes' Digital Technology‑Data & Analytics team, delivering innovative technology solutions for customers worldwide. The Data Engineering team tackles tough challenges in aviation, power, and oil & gas by leveraging data and analytics; the Data Architect leads technical design, data handling, warehouse building and overall architecture. Key duties include designing scalable pipelines, maintaining data warehouses and ETL processes, optimizing system performance, collaborating with product managers and analysts, ensuring data quality, governance and security, and monitoring infrastructure using state‑of‑the‑art methodologies. • Design and implement scalable, robust data pipelines for collection, processing, and storage. • Develop and maintain data warehouse and ETL processes for integration and transformation. • Optimize and tune data system performance for efficient processing and analysis. • Collaborate with product managers and analysts to define data requirements and modeling solutions. • Identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness. • Implement and maintain data governance and security measures to protect sensitive data. • Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure, perform root‑cause analysis, and apply fixes. • Research and adopt emerging technologies and state‑of‑the‑art methodologies for data acquisition and analysis.

What You Bring
Successful candidates hold a bachelor’s in Computer Science or a STEM field with at least four years of data engineering experience, strong SQL and database skills, expertise with ETL tools, data modeling, cloud platforms, and knowledge of distributed computing, streaming and containerization. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM field with minimum 4 years of experience. • Proven experience as a Data Engineer handling large‑scale data processing and storage. • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle. • Experience building complex SCD mappings using ETL tools like Talend or Informatica. • Familiarity with data visualization/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI). • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, communication and collaboration skills. • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing and ETL principles. • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and services (S3, Redshift, BigQuery). • Advanced understanding of distributed computing, parallel processing, and real‑time streaming (Kafka, Flink) – good to have. • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). • Relevant certifications in data engineering technologies (optional).
