About the Role
The Electrical Systems Operator (ESO) operates and maintains a variety of electrical equipment, including breakers, substations, switchgear, motor control centers, UPSs, generators, transformers, and PLCs. The position works on‑site and is responsible for safe, efficient control of the government’s electrical system using SCADA software. • Operate and monitor electrical systems using SCADA, ensuring safe and efficient performance. • Evaluate daily operation of distribution components, generators, UPSs, motor control centers, and variable frequency drives. • Respond to alarms and emergency conditions to maintain uninterrupted service. • Coordinate system outages with government personnel, customers, maintenance staff, and vendors. • Produce daily plant status reports and maintain operator logs of system changes and issues. • Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot problems, and assist with repairs of electrical equipment. • Follow PPE and arc‑flash safety procedures, including use of insulated tools. • Dispatch and assist facilities personnel during emergencies and routine service calls. • Support SCADA software by troubleshooting, debugging, upgrading, and calibrating hardware/software. • Perform functional checks of control systems and document results.

The company values diversity and respects individual differences. • High school diploma or equivalent with basic math and reading skills. • Minimum seven years of experience working on electrical systems such as motors, switchgear, UPSs, generators, and control equipment. • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical distribution equipment. • Proficiency in operating automated control systems and SCADA software. • Experience dispatching personnel and managing emergency electrical responses. • Current Top Secret security clearance with polygraph. • Valid state driver’s license and U.S. citizenship. • Ability to pass background checks, drug testing, and work additional hours as needed.
