About the Role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical design and delivery for water and wastewater projects across the UK water market, ensuring that mechanical aspects are fully integrated from concept through construction and commissioning. The role contributes to environmental and community outcomes by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems. • Lead mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects through all phases, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pump calculations, safe access, lifting arrangements, and above‑ground pipework layouts. • Coordinate with electrical, civil, geotech and process designers to deliver designs on programme, within budget and to framework quality specifications. • Collaborate with commercial, operations and construction teams to develop efficient, practical, and safe solutions during design, construction and beyond. • Engage positively with clients, manage relationships and adopt a one‑team approach to support their objectives. • Support the mechanical engineering team by coaching, mentoring engineers and identifying appropriate resources for projects. • Participation in Advanced Employee Networks supporting LGBTQ+, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, and parents/carers communities.

What You Bring

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. • Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) or equivalent experience. • Effective communication skills with team members and stakeholders. • Methodical approach to problem solving. • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the operational region.
