Lead water utility hydraulic modeling and planning for various projects

About the Role
• Plan drinking water utility systems, including supply, transmission, pumping, storage, and distribution. • Develop hydraulic models using Autodesk Innovyze, Bentley WaterGEMS, ArcGIS, and Civil 3D. • Build, calibrate, validate, and simulate water system models from plans or GIS data. • Interpret modeling results, conduct analyses, and prepare technical reports. • Present findings to clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders; provide training as needed. • Lead and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 hydraulic modelers. • Assist in developing task and effort estimates for proposal support. • Apply basic engineering principles to solve technical problems and ensure regulatory compliance. • Gather and correlate engineering data using established procedures. • Perform routine and detailed engineering calculations and analyses.

What You Bring
We are seeking a highly motivated Water Utilities Engineer – Hydraulics Engineer‑Modeler for immediate employment at one of our Southeast offices, with a hybrid schedule of remote and in‑office work. The role will involve evaluating potable and reclaimed water distribution systems, capacity analysis, condition assessments, storage and pumping evaluations, and master planning for federal, private, and municipal clients, and will collaborate with AECOM’s Southeast Modeling Group on regional projects and occasional national opportunities. • BA/BS in civil or environmental engineering (or related) with 4+ years of relevant experience. • Proficiency with water hydraulic modeling software (Innovyze, WaterGEMS) and GIS platforms. • U.S. citizenship required; ability to travel up to two weeks for field investigations. • Preferred: 6+ years experience, ability to obtain NC PE license within 6 months, wastewater modeling (InfoWorks) experience, and background in planning, permitting, and design of water distribution projects.
