About the Role

The Senior Cost Manager – Project and Development Services role in Mumbai will work side‑by‑side with the Assistant Cost Manager or Cost Manager, steering projects from pre‑design through completion, assembling and leading project teams, and establishing organisational structures, objectives and procedures. The role includes creating clear cost plans, allocating budgets to meet target profits, attending project meetings, preparing monthly reports, managing contracts, overseeing negotiations, quality control, value engineering, design change management, procurement and variation‑order management, as well as supporting construction managers with site inspections and contractor management. The Senior Cost Lead is also responsible for cost‑control systems, tracking budgets and forecasts, coordinating cost‑management services across sectors, leading program and project teams, providing line‑management, setting KPIs, coaching staff, handling recruitment and appraisals, and preparing bids and proposals to grow revenue. Additional duties involve process improvement, financial management of margins and forecasts, risk mitigation, advising on procurement strategy, facilitating value engineering and capital planning, and delivering cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle. • Lead project cost planning from pre‑design to completion, setting budgets and profit targets. • Assemble and manage multidisciplinary project teams, defining structures, objectives and procedures. • Oversee contract administration, negotiations, procurement, value engineering and change management. • Prepare BOQs, quantity take‑offs, cost analyses, benchmarking and specification reviews. • Provide line‑management: set KPIs, coach staff, conduct performance reviews and recruitment. • Develop bids/proposals, drive business development and revenue growth through renewals and cross‑selling. • Implement and maintain cost control systems, produce monthly cost reports and final accounts. • Advise on contracting, procurement strategies and capital planning across multiple sectors.
