Highway Project Manager
Lead Highway/Traffic projects, manage team, budgets, client growth in Central NY
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Lead highway and traffic engineering staff and project teams. • Manage workload, project backlogs, budgets, and schedules. • Recruit, mentor, set goals, and conduct performance reviews for staff. • Coordinate training and professional development initiatives. • Support engineers and designers in design decision‑making. • Oversee project scope, technical design, schedule, and delivery. • Ensure quality control and adherence to company standards. • Communicate with clients and provide exceptional customer service. • Drive financial performance, including revenue, profitability, billing, and collections. • Monitor administrative functions such as timesheets and billing timeliness. • Pursue new project opportunities and prepare proposals with technical approach and pricing. • Represent the firm at external organizations, events, and conferences. • Direct responsibility for project budget, scope, schedule, delivery, and quality.

What You Bring
• Hold a civil engineering bachelor’s degree and a NY State PE license (or reciprocity). • Possess at least 8 years of transportation engineering experience, including NYSDOT, LDSA, and municipal projects. • Experience managing projects through SEQRA and NEPA processes. • Knowledge of NYSDOT Highway Design Manual, regional permitting processes, and agency roadway design standards. • Proven ability to develop and track budgets, prepare proposals, and manage finances. • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Benefits
The position provides a salary range of $127,000 to $166,000 per year, based on qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
