About the Role

The Construction Director is a senior leader responsible for driving operational excellence and strategic growth across utility‑scale solar projects. Reporting to the Vice President, the role shapes division strategy, standardizes construction processes, and ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in strict compliance with safety and procedural standards. In this role, the Director will lead the division’s construction operations, develop and execute strategic plans, and ensure the profitability of the department while achieving client‑satisfaction goals. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and retaining staff, managing relationships with vendors and clients, and overseeing Project Managers and Field Superintendents to monitor progress and resolve field conflicts. • Lead division‑wide construction operations, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, and safety standards. • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive profitability and client satisfaction. • Recruit, train, mentor, and retain construction staff, providing performance feedback and appraisals. • Manage relationships with vendors, owners, and clients; coordinate subcontractors and resolve field conflicts. • Oversee Project Managers and Field Superintendents, monitoring progress, schedules, and quality. • Promote and enforce company safety policies, collaborating with the Safety Director on site issues. • Represent the division at trade shows, conferences, and internal leadership meetings. • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, produce reports, and solve complex operational problems.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field and possess at least ten years of construction or EPC experience, preferably in solar or renewable energy. Required skills include blueprint interpretation, safety leadership, advanced use of construction software such as Primavera and Viewpoint, and strong communication abilities for reporting and stakeholder engagement. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field and 10+ years of construction/EPC experience. • Demonstrate expertise in solar/renewable projects, estimating, blueprint interpretation, and construction software (Primavera, Viewpoint, MS Office).

This is a fully remote position that can be based anywhere in the United States, with up to 50% travel to project sites. Compensation ranges from $190,000 to $235,000 base salary, with eligibility for performance‑based bonuses, a 401(k) match, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
