Mace’s values guide how we work: Safety First – promoting visible safety behaviours and adhering to local health‑and‑safety regulations; Client Focus – delivering quality systems, managing project plans from inception to handover, and ensuring compliance with environmental, CDM, and statutory standards; Integrity – managing budgets responsibly and upholding the Mace way; Create Opportunity – fostering collaborative teams, achieving KPIs, and leveraging the full depth of Mace knowledge. • Lead and deliver a capital programme for the water client, coordinating area delivery team, partners, and contractors. • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships at senior level to ensure programme alignment with business strategy. • Develop and maintain project management plans, monitor progress, resolve issues, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle. • Oversee design development, conduct surveys and site visits, and produce works information aligned with the business case. • Administer contracts using NEC3/4, including payments, EWN, and change events, and evaluate tenders for award. • Ensure compliance with environmental, CDM 2015, health and safety, water quality, and statutory regulations. • Conduct regular reviews, inspections, audits, and manage contractor performance to meet quality, time, and budget targets. • Prepare specifications, risk registers, schedules, and coordinate third‑party liaison such as planning applications and land access. • Manage project budgets, identify risks, and implement corrective actions. • Lead design and consultant teams, and achieve strategic KPIs through effective stakeholder collaboration. • Utilise Oracle, Primavera P6 and other digital tools for project, programme, and financial management.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering, construction or project management, be a member of a relevant professional institute, and hold the APM Project Management Qualification. They should bring at least ten years of project‑management experience in regulated infrastructure, be digitally savvy with tools such as Oracle and Primavera P6, and possess a full UK driving licence. The role is seconded to the client in the northwest of England, based in Warrington, with travel to multiple sites. • Hold a degree in engineering/construction/project management and APM PMQ qualification; possess professional membership (e.g., ICE, IMechE, IET, IChemE, RICS). • Demonstrate 10+ years of project management experience in regulated infrastructure, preferably water utilities. • Maintain a full UK driving licence and be prepared to work in northwest England with travel to multiple sites.
