About the Role

The position follows an 8‑days‑on, 6‑days‑off day‑shift roster. You will work on underground loaders, trucks, drills and surface drill repairs. Responsibilities include mechanical and auto‑electrical duties, maintenance according to plans, fault diagnosis, record‑keeping and strict adherence to EHS policies. As a Leading Hand you will assist with daily resource planning, evaluate team work quality, provide feedback for maintenance planning, mentor and train staff, and support the workshop supervisor in performance management and team communications. • Conduct mechanical and auto‑electrical maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis on all Sandvik Mining equipment. • Follow maintenance plans to ensure equipment integrity and safe operation. • Record parts usage, equipment monitoring data and time logs accurately. • Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures and EHS standards. • Assist in daily resource planning to meet KPI and operational needs. • Evaluate team work quality, providing feedback to improve efficiency and equipment integrity. • Mentor, train, motivate and, when required, performance‑manage workshop staff. • Support and lead team meetings and communications as directed. • Maintain a strong safety culture and deliver excellent customer service.

Sandvik Mining is seeking an experienced Service Technician – Leading Hand for its workshop in Orange, NSW. The role involves diagnosing, maintaining, rebuilding, and repairing modern mining and construction equipment while supporting the team’s daily operations. The successful candidate will act as the go‑to person for equipment performance, helping improve reliability and productivity for customers. Full product training and ongoing support from the expert product support team are provided. The ideal candidate lives near Orange, holds an Australian‑recognised Mechanical or Auto‑Electrical trade licence, and has experience with Sandvik trucks, loaders and drilling equipment. Strong safety culture, communication, customer service, leadership experience, basic computer literacy and a Class C manual driver’s licence are required. Eligibility to work in Australia and successful completion of a pre‑employment medical are mandatory. • Hold an Australian‑recognised Mechanical or Auto‑Electrical trade certification. • Possess experience with Sandvik trucks, loaders and drilling mobile mining equipment. • Demonstrate leadership experience, effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Basic computer literacy and a Class C manual driver’s licence. • Right to live and work in Australia and successful completion of a pre‑employment medical.
