About the Role
The internship provides hands‑on experience in multifamily maintenance, including repairs, preventive tasks, unit turnovers, and property inspections. Interns will shadow various maintenance team members, assist with grounds and landscaping upkeep, and support initiatives that improve curb appeal and utility efficiency. They will also help inspect pre‑move‑out units, prepare make‑readies, distribute resident notices, and accompany vendors while adhering to confidentiality and logging procedures. • Assist with day‑to‑day maintenance tasks such as repairs, preventive maintenance, unit turnovers, and property inspections. • Shadow and collaborate with maintenance team members to understand each role’s contribution to property success. • Perform routine grounds and landscaping upkeep to enhance curb appeal and maintain efficient utility systems. • Inspect pre‑move‑out units, prepare make‑readies, and address service requests as needed. • Distribute resident notices and correspondence while protecting confidential information. • Accompany vendors to occupied and vacant units, ensuring proper communication and access. • Follow company key‑logging, storage procedures, and safety protocols, including PPE usage. • Communicate regularly with the SIT Program Manager, Service Mentor, and Regional Maintenance Director. • Lift up to 80 lb, climb ladders and stairs, and move equipment up to 200 lb using an appliance dolly. • Work flexible hours, attend team events, and be willing to be assigned to other Weidner properties.
