About the Role
The 12‑week summer internship begins around May 18, 2026, with a flexible start date. Interns will support various engineering tasks, learn core structural principles, and assist with research, field work, preliminary design calculations, and the preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates. The Buildings Team is seeking a full‑time Structural Engineering Intern for the Summer 2026 term in Irvine, CA. This temporary role is open to individuals currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program. Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited Structural or Civil Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later, be at least 18 years old, and possess a strong interest in structural engineering. Required skills include effective interpersonal communication, the ability to follow direction, basic technical writing, office software proficiency, and a proven safety record. U.S. work authorization is required. Preferred qualifications include enrollment in a graduate program, experience with AutoCAD or Revit, and prior internship or leadership experience. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences. • Show basic proficiency in technical writing, office automation, spreadsheets, and engineering software tools. • Preferred: experience with AutoCAD or Revit and prior internship or campus leadership roles. • Eligibility: must be authorized to work in the United States.

Benefits
The position offers an hourly compensation range of $22.16 to $31.37, reflecting education, experience, and geographic factors, with the possibility of adjustments and additional benefits.
