About the Role

In this role you will perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls’ configuration and commissioning tools, troubleshoot basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls issues, and respond to warranty calls. You will ensure that each system is properly set up and operating effectively for our customers. You will load system‑level controller software, conduct basic commissioning and diagnostics from controllers to end devices such as sensors and actuators, and complete all required documentation. You will keep management and the contractor or customer informed of progress, calibrate systems with electronic test equipment, and handle administrative tasks like timesheets and expense reports. Safety standards will be followed at all times, and you will provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes to improve facility efficiency and identify upselling opportunities. • Perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls tools. • Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems. • Respond to basic warranty service calls. • Load and program system‑level controller software. • Conduct diagnostics on sensors, actuators, and other end devices. • Complete commissioning and as‑built documentation. • Communicate job progress and issues to management, contractors, and customers. • Calibrate systems with electronic test equipment. • Prepare administrative records such as timesheets and expense reports. • Follow all safety standards and attend required training. • Provide efficiency recommendations, solutions, and cost‑effective quotes. • Identify and pursue upselling opportunities for facility improvements. • Explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. • Lead and support mechanics on non‑complex building automation tasks.

What You Bring

We seek candidates with a two‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a related field, or with at least one to two years of relevant industry experience. Required knowledge includes HVAC control systems, facilities management, site preparation, and equipment installation and servicing techniques. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences, and leadership abilities to support mechanics on non‑critical building automation projects are essential. Proficiency with PC tools and HVAC‑related software programming is also required. • Apply knowledge of HVAC controls, facilities management, and equipment installation. • Represent Johnson Controls professionally with strong interpersonal skills. • Program HVAC‑related software using PC tools.
