About the Role

The role involves installing, maintaining, and operating wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. Technicians climb towers and ladders, erect various tower types, offload material, prepare sites, install carriers, and assist with helicopter, crane, and gin‑pole operations, as well as antenna and transmission line installations. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecom equipment. • Climb towers and ladders to perform installations and inspections. • Erect various tower types using helicopters, cranes, gin poles, and manual methods. • Offload materials, manage inventory, and prepare sites for construction. • Install carriers on new builds and existing towers. • Assemble monopoles, weld and knock‑down self‑support, and guyed towers. • Mount microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. • Install transmission lines, coaxial, hardline, and waveguide components. • Perform electrical foundation, grounding, and conduit work. • Follow MasTec health, safety, and environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI).

What You Bring

Candidates must prioritize safety, demonstrate high‑quality workmanship, and enjoy hands‑on problem solving. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent with at least eight years of relevant experience, the ability to read instructions, knowledge of safety standards, physical capability to climb towers and lift 50 lb, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility for weekend, night, and extensive travel requirements. • Minimum high school diploma/GED with 8+ years telecom tower experience. • Proven record of high‑quality work and safety compliance. • Ability to read and follow printed instructions and safety regulations. • Physical ability to climb towers, lift 50 lb, and work up to 12 hours. • Valid driver’s license meeting company policy. • Availability for weekends, nights, extreme weather, and extensive travel. • NWSA certification preferred.
