About the Role

The Transportation team in Northern Ireland is hiring a Project Engineer – Signalling for a full‑time permanent role. The engineer will represent Mace with key clients, ensure successful delivery of assignments, provide strategic direction and monitor progress against the company's vision and objectives. • Coordinate work with other contractors • Liaise with route engineers (discipline) • Participate in engineering and development assurance activities to deliver affordable, safe and environmentally responsible schemes meeting time, cost and quality targets • Consider safety, reliability, maintainability, constructability and whole‑life issues in the engineering assurance process • Review compliance with appropriate standards • Use risk identification and evaluation methods (e.g., HAZOP, QRA) to evaluate and compare options • Assure (or undertake) development of the selected single option • Prepare the full engineering assurance package for detailed design and respond to clarifications/queries • Carry out engineering verifications • Manage engineering interfaces of allocated proposals with concurrent work in other disciplines • Produce and approve method statements for site works and surveys to required standards, liaising with the appropriate project engineer • Ensure contractors’ design, construction and specialist personnel are competent (CEM/CRE appointment, etc.)

What You Bring

The position requires three days per week in the office with ad‑hoc travel to sites around Belfast. Our values shape how we consult: safety, client focus, integrity and creating opportunities for people to excel. • Preferably chartered engineer with a relevant BSc/BEng (or equivalent) and at least 5 years of relevant experience • Capable of performing the role of Project Engineer • Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and CSM 2013 regulations, especially asset‑protection requirements for third‑party, major and minor projects • Good knowledge of Network Rail risk assessment processes, including CSM‑RA
