About the Role

Key responsibilities include collaborating with Safe by Design stakeholders across the unit, region and group, promoting techniques that improve health, safety, wellbeing and injury prevention. The incumbent will organise and lead initiatives, campaigns, workshops and award competitions, review training tools and digital resources, and provide mentoring and constructability workshops. They will also ensure day‑to‑day HSW activities, compliance with country‑specific legislation and the sharing of positive design case studies. • Promote Safe by Design techniques and encourage reporting of positive design interventions. • Organise and lead safety campaigns, workshops, competitions and awards. • Review and enhance training tools, digital resources, and competence assessments for Safe by Design. • Deliver training, mentoring and constructability workshops across the unit and region. • Ensure compliance with country‑specific Safe by Design legislation and daily HSW activities.

What You Bring

The role of Safe by Design Leader reports to the Unit General Manager and works diagonally with the Regional Safety Manager. It is a full‑time position based in Mumbai or Bengaluru, requiring a qualified designer with a strong health and safety background and the ability to communicate and influence stakeholders at regional and unit levels. Candidates should hold a degree in engineering or a related design field and possess 10–15+ years of design‑led experience with strong safety expertise. Professional safety qualifications such as IOSH, CSM or IIRSM are highly beneficial. The ideal applicant demonstrates the ability to influence and persuade, excellent communication and digital collaboration skills, and a passion for using innovation and technology to create safer, healthier, and more sustainable solutions. • 10–15+ years of design‑led engineering experience with strong safety expertise. • Degree in engineering or design; safety qualifications (IOSH, CSM, IIRSM) highly beneficial. • Proven ability to influence, present and sell safety concepts to technical teams and clients. • Excellent communication and digital collaboration skills. • Experience across multiple sectors and multidisciplinary projects.
