About the Role
The primary responsibility is to deliver the highest level of service, solving facility inefficiencies and addressing service‑related items. As a trusted advisor, the technician will provide solutions during commissioning and aftermarket service, recommend efficiency improvements, identify upselling opportunities, and generate quotes to support recommendations. • Perform startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and aftermarket service on residential and commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, and rooftop units. • Diagnose and repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chiller components. • Provide recommendations, upsell solutions, and generate quotes to improve facility efficiency. • Serve as a trusted advisor during commissioning and post‑installation service. • Travel 10–20% to support branch customers and service calls. • Maintain safety standards and hold required EPA refrigerant, state licensing, and a valid driver’s license. • Participate in Johnson Controls Service Technical Academy (STA) and Service Plus Rewards program. • Collaborate with local market mechanics and document problem causes and corrective actions.

What You Bring
Candidates must be members or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry, and have at least three years of practical experience with the listed HVAC equipment. Required skills include strong mechanical troubleshooting, the ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chiller components, and effective written and verbal communication. Travel of 10‑20 % may be required, and applicants must possess a universal EPA refrigerant license, any applicable state or local licenses, and a valid driver’s license.
