About the Role
The Carpenter is responsible for designing, constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and other items of wood, plywood, and wallboard using pneumatic and electric power tools. They fasten materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives and perform a final check to ensure accuracy. The role requires knowledge of advanced layout, use of simon forms, anchor bolt layout, material takeoff from drawings, and safety requirements for building work. The carpenter must understand safety hazards and safely operate tools and equipment, and work in plant operations or construction jobsite settings. The carpenter reads and interprets blueprints and sketches, prepares related reports, and provides instruction to laborers and other trade helpers. They perform a wide range of construction activities, including building and setting forms, scaffolding, tying rebar, finish carpentry, and operating hand and power tools, while also inspecting work areas and conducting repairs or maintenance. Collaboration with other craft workers is also part of the role. • Read and interpret blueprints/sketches, and complete reports • Instruct laborers and other construction trade helpers • Build and set forms, use level instrument, tie rebar, build scaffold, finish carpentry work, read tape/ruler, set screeds, install batter boards, and operate various hand and power tools • Inspect areas and conduct repairs or maintenance • Assist other craft workers as needed

What You Bring
Qualifications include physical ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), perform repetitive hand/arm and leg motions, maintain balance on various structures, and work in diverse weather and terrain conditions. The position may involve sedentary to heavy work, use of hand and power tools, and work in confined spaces. Mentally, the carpenter must communicate effectively with management, comprehend reading and writing for directions and safety policies, perform calculations, concentrate amid distractions, make decisions, and be detail‑oriented.
