About the Role

The Welder role utilizes ARC or MIG welding equipment to perform hand‑welding in a production environment, adhering to lean and 5S methodologies. Responsibilities include regulating gas flow, controlling current and voltage for proper metal penetration and fusion, and selecting the correct electrode type, size, tips, and welding rod for each job. Key duties involve reading engineered drawings, setting up and operating welding machines, adjusting gas mixtures and pressure, manually guiding the electrode or gun along weld lines, and securing work pieces with bolts, clamps, or tack welding. The welder must inspect welds for bead size and specifications, keep the work area clean and organized, and may be tasked with additional duties such as operating a brake press. • Operate ARC or MIG welding equipment following lean and 5S principles. • Read engineered drawings and select appropriate electrodes, rods, and machine settings. • Adjust gas regulators, torch, and machine parameters for proper weld penetration and quality. • Perform hand‑welding on flat, cylindrical, and irregular parts using clamps or tack welding. • Inspect welds for bead size and specifications while maintaining a clean work area. • Maintain consistent attendance and be ready at the start of each shift. • Apply simple reading, writing, math, and problem‑solving abilities to daily tasks.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, and one to three years of related welding experience or equivalent training.
