Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. Commercial drivers pick up containers that can exceed 1,000 lb and must perform precise backing maneuvers. Residential drivers collect household waste while navigating driveways, alleys, and congested roadways. Roll‑off drivers load and haul large open‑top or compactor containers, often working in tight overhead environments. Drivers must operate vehicles in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws, and complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections documented on DVIRs. They report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch, and attend required training and briefings. Drivers communicate customer requests, follow assigned routes, dump receptacles, keep sites clean, and complete end‑of‑day documentation while assisting teammates as needed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Back‑maneuver containers up to 1,000 lb and safely dump waste at customer sites. • Follow WM safety policies, OSHA, DOT regulations, and report hazards and incidents. • Communicate route changes, service interruptions, and customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Complete end‑of‑day documentation and assist other drivers as needed. • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a valid CDL Class A or B with an air‑brake endorsement, or have at least one year of equivalent military driving experience within the past seven years. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States or Canada. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing. These physical tasks are essential for safely loading, unloading, and maneuvering waste containers. • Hold a valid CDL Class A or B with air‑brake endorsement (or 1 year equivalent military driving experience). • Be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States or Canada. • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
