About the Role

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you will help design critical infrastructure that supports the digital age, from high‑performance data centers powering AI to dynamic commercial environments that enhance human experience. The team lead will manage the Northern California BES control systems team, handling staff development, workflow forecasting, proposals, scheduling, profitability, morale, and quality control while serving as a technical lead on projects. Responsibilities include recruiting and developing technical personnel, coordinating services with other disciplines, and maintaining direct client interaction throughout project lifecycles. • Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support • May function as an Assistant Project Manager and assist in responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities • Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections • Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews • Be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues • Assist in ensuring that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system • Implement, monitor and support company policy • Assist in the selection, training, development and management of technical personnel • Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts • Lead, produce, and coordinate the work of Control Systems Coordinators, EIT’s, and Engineers and design with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project's development • Participate in Project quality checks and reviews with various governing agencies for technical content and Code compliance • Coordinate workload for the control system’s team’s project development to complete documents on schedule • Establish client relations, and participate in the marketing, design and production meetings with regard to control systems • Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplines • Track the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon schedule
