About the Role
The Material Handler role focuses on moving supplies and products throughout the facility, supporting production lines by shipping, receiving, and accurately tracking inventory. The position requires operating lift trucks, loading and unloading material, and ensuring that all items are stored correctly. • Operate lift trucks to transport supplies and finished materials to production areas. • Ship and receive materials, verifying counts, part numbers, and condition of items. • Record inventory transactions using scanners, bar code systems, and manual logs. • Load and unload trucks, rail cars, and semi‑trailers while minimizing damage. • Handle hazardous substances safely and maintain appropriate documentation. • Move scrap to designated storage, maintain scrap inventory records, and fill LP gas tanks as needed. • Issue parts from cribs, complete requisition forms, and order inventory for production zones. • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on forklifts and transport trucks. • Conduct daily and annual inventories to ensure material availability for production. • Maintain housekeeping standards and complete 5S assignments in assigned areas. • Support peer training and development within the material handling team. • Provide input on system and process improvements to management. • Comply with all safety training, emergency response, and hazardous waste handling procedures. • Report accidents, injuries, and safety concerns immediately to supervisors. • Participate in safety coaching, lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, and spill management activities.

What You Bring
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess a valid forklift/over‑the‑road driver’s license. Proficiency with SAP material‑movement transactions, the ability to read shipping documents, and HazMat certification within six months are essential. Safety is a core responsibility; employees must comply with all environmental, health, and safety rules, participate in training, report incidents promptly, and act as coaches for safe behavior. Knowledge of hazardous waste handling, chemical labeling, and emergency procedures is required.
