About the Role

The Heavy Equipment Operator works safely in a hazardous waste treatment processing facility or landfill, operating light and heavy equipment to move, treat, and ship waste. Key duties include off‑loading trucks, stabilizing waste, processing treatment containers, sampling post‑treated material for laboratory testing, and loading cleared material for disposal. The role also involves routine preventative maintenance of equipment and general housekeeping. • Assist in off‑loading trucks and unloading waste. • Operate equipment to stabilize and handle waste. • Process treatment of materials and containers. • Sample post‑treated materials for laboratory testing. • Load cleared post‑treatment materials for shipment to landfill or disposal. • Perform general preventative maintenance on equipment and housekeeping tasks.

What You Bring

Preferred qualifications include knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation, proficiency with hand and power tools, and basic vehicle inspection skills such as checking tire pressure and fluid levels. Candidates must demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, and may need a valid driver’s license. Minimum requirements are at least two years of related experience and current 40‑hour HAZWOPER training or the ability to complete it upon hire.
