About the Role
The Power Systems Engineer executes electrical power system network analysis, site reliability and safety audits, performs electrical engineering design and provides solution‑based engineering proposals. In this role you will perform power system engineering analysis for industrial and commercial electric power systems—including protection coordination, short‑circuit calculations, arc‑flash hazard assessments, power flow, power quality studies, and site audits—and design improvements to medium‑ and low‑voltage distribution networks. You will evaluate results, prepare written reports with findings and mitigation recommendations, and develop cost estimates and bid proposals. Collaboration with the Solutions Sales team and direct on‑site interaction with customers will be essential to qualify needs, propose energy solutions, and ensure projects meet sustainability goals such as microgrids while enhancing safety and reliability. • Conduct power system analysis (coordination, short‑circuit, arc‑flash, power flow, quality) and site audits for medium/low‑voltage distribution. • Prepare reports with findings, recommendations, and mitigation solutions. • Design improvements to upgrade electrical distribution, supporting sustainability goals such as microgrids. • Collaborate with sales team and customers to qualify needs and propose energy solutions. • Provide cost estimates, bid proposals, and technical support for projects. • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, safety, reliability, and quality control. • Manage project timelines and maintain long‑term customer relationships. • Travel to customer locations across Canada as required.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least seven years of experience in power engineering studies or electrical design for commercial or industrial projects, preferably with consulting engineering exposure. Experience with project proposals, development, and customer presentations is required; microgrid and electrical site audit experience is advantageous. Proficiency in power system analysis software (ETAP preferred, PTW, EasyPower, CYME acceptable) and a valid P.Eng. licence are mandatory, while bilingual ability is a plus. Strong communication skills are needed to effectively engage customers, sales representatives, and internal technical staff. • Minimum 7 years of power engineering or electrical design experience in commercial/industrial projects. • Consulting engineering experience and project proposal/customer presentation skills are strong assets. • Microgrid and site audit experience is an advantage. • Proficiency with power system analysis software (ETAP preferred; PTW, EasyPower, CYME acceptable). • Hold a valid P.Eng. license; bilingual ability is a plus. • Strong communication skills for interaction with customers, sales, and internal teams.
