About the Role

The Facility Day Porter works Monday‑Friday on a daytime shift (7 am‑3:30 pm or 8 am‑4:30 pm) and is responsible for keeping the building clean, presentable, and functional throughout the day. The role serves as the first line of support for occupants, responding quickly to service requests and performing light maintenance as needed. The position reports to the Maintenance Lead and operates under general supervision, collaborating with other janitorial staff, maintenance personnel, and building occupants to ensure overall facility cleanliness and functionality. • Clean high‑traffic and common areas such as lobbies, hallways, breakrooms, restrooms, elevators, and conference rooms. • Respond to janitorial service requests, including spills, restocking supplies, and spot‑cleaning surfaces. • Maintain entryways, glass doors, and exterior walkways, performing trash pickup and minor snow/ice removal as needed. • Empty and relabel trash and recycling bins throughout the facility. • Restock soap, paper products, and other consumables in restrooms, kitchens, and copy/print stations. • Set up and break down meeting rooms, arrange furniture, and provide AV support when trained. • Track janitorial supply inventory and notify the supervisor when restocking is required. • Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing bulbs, tightening fixtures, and reporting issues. • Maintain a visible, helpful presence to promote a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. • Follow safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals and PPE according to site protocols. • Report directly to the Maintenance Lead. • Receive daily task direction from facility management while working under general supervision. • Collaborate with janitorial staff, maintenance personnel, and occupants to support overall facility functionality. • Follow safety procedures for chemical use, lifting, and general maintenance. • Deliver excellent customer service with a friendly, professional demeanor. • Apply basic troubleshooting to report or address light maintenance needs.

What You Bring

• Hold a high school diploma or GED (required). • Have 2–3 years of janitorial, custodial, or facilities support experience (preferred). • Possess experience in professional office, educational, or similar environments (a plus). • Know basic cleaning techniques, tools, and equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and mop systems. • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to presentation. • Follow written and verbal instructions in English; bilingual ability is a plus. • Work independently and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.

Benefits
