About the Role

The Senior Environmental Planner role sits within the Sydney Environmental Impact Assessment team, supporting a strong pipeline of energy, water, and transport projects. The position offers the chance to work on high‑profile EISs such as Australia’s first offshore wind farm study and the longest road tunnel assessment. In this role you will prepare high‑quality Environmental Impact Statements, Review of Environmental Factors and other approval documents, translating technical data into clear language for clients and regulators. You will also manage medium‑scale projects, contribute to larger program planning, and coordinate specialist input and fieldwork to ensure integrated technical advice. • Prepare and deliver high‑quality Environmental Impact Statements and related approval documents. • Manage medium‑scale environmental projects and support larger program planning. • Coordinate specialist input and fieldwork to integrate technical advice into project outcomes. • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members. • Balance workload, budgets and schedules to ensure timely project delivery. • Communicate complex environmental issues clearly to clients and regulators.

What You Bring

Collaboration is central: you will work within multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and balance workload, resources, budgets and schedules to keep projects on track. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to support client coordination and deliver approvals efficiently. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, planning or engineering and has at least five years of relevant consulting experience, including environmental impact assessment across multiple sectors. Proven project management abilities, confident written and verbal communication, and a reputation for teamwork are also required. • Hold a bachelor's degree in environmental science, planning, or engineering. • Possess 5+ years of relevant consulting experience, including EIA across sectors. • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills. • Exhibit proven project management and organizational capabilities.
