About the Role
• Assist in research, design, modify, develop and evaluate systems, products, components, and applications by applying fundamental mechanical engineering principles • Validate vendor equipment performance and capabilities by developing testing methods, performing tests, and documenting test results • Support senior engineers with final system performance through execution of test procedures and data analysis • Research and identify mechanical parts, components, and materials • Manage data, including test results, Bills-of-Material, quotations, drawings, technical data sheets, etc. • Perform hardware assembly and equipment installations • May perform site surveys and field installations with project teams • Communicate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines, manufacturing personnel, management, vendors, customers, and subcontractors. • Support engineering documentation, i.e., drawings, project specifications, procedures, test data and results • Abide by company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks

What You Bring
The Mechanical Engineer Intern position is a Summer 2026 opportunity (June – August) at the Las Cruces office, supporting multiple projects in the RF communications industry. Under the guidance of a senior engineer, the intern will gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, learning processes, procedures, and tools for stress, strain, thermal management, hardware integration, component selection, and engineering documentation. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, currently enrolled in an ABET‑accredited Mechanical Engineering program, and able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance. A valid driver’s license is required, and a GPA of 3.00 or higher is preferred, along with basic CAD experience and strong communication skills. • Must hold a valid driver’s license and have the ability to obtain a US DOD security clearance • Must be a U.S. citizen with valid documentation • Must be currently enrolled at an ABET accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering • Basic experience using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 • Able to work up to 40 hours per week during the internship program
