About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with various load lift attachments and transport waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities. Commercial drivers handle container pick‑ups, residential drivers collect household waste, and roll‑off drivers load and move large open‑top containers, all requiring skilled backing maneuvers. Drivers must follow WM safety rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, and all applicable laws. They complete pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, report unsafe conditions, attend required training, and work with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency. Drivers also communicate customer requests, dump receptacles cleanly, follow route assignments, document end‑of‑day activities, and assist colleagues as needed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Follow WM safety, OSHA, DOT regulations and all local, state, and federal laws. • Report incidents, service interruptions, and customer requests to Operations or Dispatch. • Execute skilled backing maneuvers to load, unload, and position waste containers. • Maintain clean work sites by fully dumping receptacles and removing debris.

What You Bring

Applicants need at least one year of CDL‑required vehicle operation or recent military driving experience, be at least 18 years old, and hold a valid Class A or B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role involves standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing in various work environments, with reasonable accommodations available. The position may require a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative for travel.
