About the Role

The Practice Builder role empowers you to craft a bold vision for growth, win work from new and existing clients, deliver high-quality services profitably, and mentor the next generation, while receiving comprehensive support from accounting, marketing, recruiting, IT, and production. In this position you will define and execute the practice’s strategic vision, cultivate strong client relationships with municipalities and agencies, drive business development, supervise design projects, ensure timely and quality deliverables, and maintain project profitability and operational excellence. • Define and execute a strategic vision for sustainable growth of the Water/Wastewater practice. • Build and maintain strong client relationships with municipalities, counties, water authorities, and state agencies. • Lead business development initiatives, write proposals, scopes, and budgets to secure new projects. • Supervise Water/Wastewater design projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and profitability. • Mentor and lead a high-performing team, allocate resources, and manage seamless work transitions. • Manage projects profitably and mentor staff effectively.

What You Bring

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years of civil engineering experience in utility water projects, a bachelor’s degree, a PE license, and an established network of municipal and agency contacts. Proven business-development skills, the ability to win work, and experience in proposal writing, budgeting, and staff mentorship are essential, along with strong communication and leadership abilities. • Possess 15+ years of civil engineering experience in utility water projects. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a valid PE license for the applicable state. • Demonstrate proven business-development and marketing experience, including winning work. • Exhibit excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills.
