About the Role

The Senior Accountant supports financial operations by maintaining accurate records, assisting with month‑end and year‑end closings, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. The role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration within the accounting team. • Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing, ensuring accurate transaction recording. • Manage general ledger entries and maintain timely financial records. • Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. • Record daily bank activity and complete monthly bank reconciliations. • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in compliance with regulations. • Manage property tax filings and contractor/business license applications. • Oversee fixed‑asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation. • Compile schedules and work papers to support year‑end audit preparation. • Conduct income‑statement variance analysis and contribute to budget preparation. • Perform margin analysis at the financial‑statement level for projects and lines of business. • Allocate revenue and costs accurately to support financial reporting. • Collaborate with the Controller to improve financial process efficiency.

What You Bring

The position requires the ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods, lift up to 35 lb occasionally, and perform occasional walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Visual acuity and the ability to convey detailed instructions verbally are also necessary. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 5+ years of experience in construction or manufacturing accounting. • Demonstrate solid GAAP knowledge, strong analytical/problem‑solving skills, and high attention to detail. • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experienced with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics. • Skilled in inventory cost accounting, sales/use tax, and financial‑statement analysis.
