About the Role

The Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit provides project, programme and commercial management services together with advisory solutions across sectors such as built environment, defence, energy, water, transport and health. APD tackles projects up to £20 bn, delivering programme management, cost control, infrastructure finance, digital consulting and more. Strategic advisory helps client organisations navigate complex, inter‑connected challenges – from net‑zero ambition and climate resilience to digital transformation and social outcomes. The team combines technical problem‑solving with management‑consultancy expertise to align people, processes, information and technology. The role is a Consultant in the Industrialised Design and Construction (IDC) team, focusing on Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). The consultant will support strategic and technical advisory across buildings, water, transport and energy sectors, working with clients, designers, manufacturers and contractors to embed industrialised approaches. • Support development and implementation of IDC strategies across client portfolios to improve delivery efficiency. • Apply DfMA and MMC principles to optimise design, construction and operational outcomes. • Create and use standardised tools, methods and delivery models for repeatable, scalable solutions. • Develop IDC metrics and performance indicators for data‑driven decision making. • Produce case studies and a library of proven IDC approaches to capture and share knowledge. • Mentor staff and contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing activities. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed IDC principles from concept to completion. • Contribute to digital tools and data models that enhance transparency, traceability and automation. • Participate in client workshops, stakeholder engagement and delivery assurance to build trusted relationships.
