About the Role

In this role you will conduct vegetation assessments and biological surveys, monitor construction activities for regulatory compliance, and build positive relationships with landowners and stakeholders to secure property access. Your field data and reports will guide project decisions, support erosion control and habitat protection, and ensure adherence to state and federal environmental requirements. • Conduct vegetation assessments and biological surveys (avian, rare plants, aquatic species). • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. • Identify riparian zones and flag sensitive areas for protection. • Communicate project details to landowners and coordinate property access. • Utilize GIS platforms and GPS tools for accurate mapping and reporting. • Prepare detailed compliance documentation for state and federal permitting programs. • Coordinate schedules with tree‑trimming crews, inspectors, and contractors. • Apply best management practices for erosion and sediment control during construction.

What You Bring

Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), with 0‑4 years in biological or environmental consulting. A valid driver’s license, strong communication skills, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with GIS tools are required; the ability to work independently in remote, rugged terrain is essential. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, HAZWOPER/CPR certifications, and experience with CEQA, NEPA, and Clean Water Act compliance. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Possess 0‑4 years of experience in biological or environmental consulting. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to travel frequently across a large geographic area. • Demonstrate strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with GIS tools. • Work independently in varied outdoor conditions, including remote locations and challenging terrain. • Preferred: master’s degree, HAZWOPER/CPR certifications, and knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and Clean Water Act compliance.

Benefits

The anticipated annual base salary ranges from $61,299 to $75,562, with eligibility for bonus pay, and the position includes a comprehensive benefits package covering paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and a 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP plan. Compensation varies based on education, experience, location, performance, and business needs.
