About the Role
Interns will gain hands‑on exposure to project accounting, group finance, performance analysis, financial reporting, and finance technology. Responsibilities include assisting with core finance and accounting tasks, developing and enhancing reports, dashboards, and profitability analyses for large construction projects, and supporting process‑improvement initiatives and ad‑hoc requests. • Support core finance and accounting tasks for project accounting and group finance. • Develop and enhance internal reports, dashboards, and performance analyses. • Conduct project profitability reporting and financial analyses for large construction projects. • Assist in process improvement initiatives and financial reporting enhancements. • Provide administrative and analytical support to internal customers and ad‑hoc requests. • Maintain reliable transportation and legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Mortenson is seeking dynamic, highly motivated Finance Interns to join the team for the winter and spring of 2026. The internship is a part‑time position (20 hours per week) based at the company’s Minneapolis headquarters, with an hourly wage starting at $18 and higher rates for upper‑class students. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Applicants should be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA, and possess strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Desired qualities include teamwork orientation, initiative, effective communication, problem‑solving, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, as well as reliable transportation. • Pursue a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA. • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Exhibit strong teamwork, communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
