About the Role
The BIM Manager is a hybrid role reporting to the Director of Design, responsible for daily BIM modeling and coordination while also developing and maintaining Revit standards, families, templates, workflows, and procedures for Paladin Technologies. The position supports both internal employees and external customers, handling 3D BIM work alongside traditional 2D CAD tasks to ensure high‑quality service and alignment with corporate objectives. In line with company policies and applicable laws, the BIM Manager performs supervisory duties that include planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; providing rewards and disciplinary actions; and addressing employee complaints and problem resolution. • Develop detailed 2D/3D models and drawings for structured cabling, outside plant, AV, security, DAS, and low‑voltage systems using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, and Navisworks. • Assist the Director of Design in creating and maintaining BIM/AutoCAD standards, libraries, families, and templates. • Lead and supervise modeling and documentation on projects. • Schedule and assign work to meet project deliverables and deadlines. • Clean and purge background drawings/models for PTI models. • Incorporate all relevant trade models when creating models. • Collaborate with project coordinators and detailers. • Supervise and back‑check work for accuracy before hand‑off. • Recommend software, training, and hardware improvements for the BIM/AutoCAD program. • Produce 3D renderings of conference rooms, data centers, and IDF/MDF rooms for proposal packages. • Attend BIM coordination meetings and liaise with architects, developers, MEP consultants, and trade modelers; resolve clashes. • Review project design intent, BIM Execution Plan, and Project Execution Plan. • Perform electronic takeoffs using Autodesk tools or Bluebeam Revu. • Maintain skills in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, ACC, Navisworks, MS Office, and Bluebeam. • Complete miscellaneous design, drafting, modeling, or office tasks as directed. • Ensure timely submittal of drawing sets per BIM Execution Plan and schedule. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with high accuracy and attention to detail. • Plan, assign, and direct work; coach, appraise, reward, discipline, and resolve employee issues per policies and law. • Lead, inspire, motivate, and coach team members. • Solve problems independently with minimal supervision. • Deliver projects on schedule. • Organize workload for effective implementation. • Maintain strong customer focus with proven results. • Produce aesthetically pleasing, legible, and accessible drawings.

• Build knowledge of BIM and the technologies Paladin installs. • Communicate effectively and mentor team members. • Manage time and organize tasks effectively. • Perform well in high‑volume environments. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. • Present information clearly in one‑on‑one and small‑group settings. • Interact effectively across all levels and cultures. • Adapt to evolving external and organizational environments. • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience. • 5–7 years of drafting and design experience in IT, instrumentation, controls, electronics, or security industries. • Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, IP networks, low‑voltage electronics, power and communications, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office. • Strong understanding of physical security and technology industries, including related products and trends. • Knowledge of IP networks, low‑voltage electronics, power, and communications concepts. • Excellent written and verbal communication in English. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment. • Highly developed analytical and problem‑solving skills. • Willingness to create training plans for VDC staff. • Ambitious self‑starter researching new technologies and methodologies. • Experience with access control, CCTV (IP/Analog), intrusion systems, client‑server security apps, MS SQL, servers, storage arrays, or Microsoft Visio. • Field experience in construction environments. • Post‑secondary education in electronics, IT, or related field. • Communicate clearly (see, hear, speak, write) with employees and customers. • Manual dexterity for frequent reaching, lifting small objects, and operating office equipment.
