About the Role
In this position you will oversee data collection and analysis from site investigations, apply advanced geotechnical techniques to design and construct facilities, roads, tunnels, dams, and water systems, and lead large‑scale projects from concept through completion while ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. • Provide technical leadership for multi‑site geotechnical due diligence, investigation, remediation, permitting and construction. • Conduct complex subsurface investigations, soil/rock testing, settlement and stability analyses, and interpret GIS and hydro‑geologic data. • Develop design concepts, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates and safety/phasing plans for infrastructure such as roads, bridges, tunnels, dams and utilities. • Lead large‑scale geotechnical projects, manage budgets, track hours/expenses, and supervise subcontractors and project staff. • Review and ensure compliance of permit applications, design documents and construction inspections with state and federal regulations. • Mentor junior engineers, support professional development, and promote knowledge of emerging geotechnical technologies. • Build and grow a client base by identifying business development opportunities and delivering high‑level engineering services. • Apply strong interpersonal, communication and problem‑solving skills to interact with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams. • Adhere to WSP’s health, safety, ethics and QA/QC policies and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry standards.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering (master’s preferred), a professional engineer license, and 10+ years of relevant experience. Strong proficiency with geotechnical principles, infrastructure design, software tools, and communication skills is required, along with a commitment to safety, ethics, and continuous learning. • Hold a B.S. in Geotechnical Engineering (M.S. preferred) and maintain a valid professional Engineer license. • Possess 10+ years of experience in geotechnical design, infrastructure planning and construction management. • Demonstrate proficiency with geotechnical software (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, GeoPak, GeoSlope, ANSYS) and technical writing.
