About the Role
KBR supports LOGCAP NORTHCOM by delivering rapid response services for U.S. Army training exercises at two locations. The team has completed another year of support, providing typical LOGCAP services to warfighter operations. The Tactical Vehicle Mechanic reads and interprets military electronic and technical manuals to perform lubrication orders and ensure vehicles are fully mission capable with safety verifications. This role involves repairing and maintaining a variety of tactical and commercial vehicles as well as related equipment, and it operates on the night shift from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Saturday through Wednesday. In this position the mechanic conducts comprehensive inspections, identifies required parts, and carries out mechanical maintenance according to IETM and TM procedures. Duties include servicing PREPO, Green, and White Fleet assets, supporting apprentices, communicating with customers during verification cycles, and maintaining accurate physical and electronic records. The job requires adherence to productivity standards, completion of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on material‑handling equipment, diagnostic testing with specialized tools, and repair or replacement of components such as engines, drivetrains, and body parts. Cleanliness, organization, and compliance with KBR’s Zero Harm culture, continuous improvement, and quality assurance programs are also expected. • Perform FMC and safety verifications on heavy and light tactical wheeled vehicles. • Identify required repair parts and conduct mechanical maintenance per IETM/TM procedures. • Maintain and repair PREPO, Green, and White Fleet vehicles and equipment. • Mentor apprentices and validate their work in the trades helper apprentice program. • Communicate with customers during off‑site FMC and safety verifications. • Generate and maintain physical and electronic logbooks and inspection packets. • Meet 95% regulatory and contract productivity requirements. • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, RTCH trucks, etc.). • Conduct diagnostic tests using measuring devices and special tools to identify system failures. • Repair and replace components such as engines, drive trains, and body parts. • Maintain clean, organized work areas and perform end‑of‑shift clean‑up. • Support KBR’s Zero Harm Culture, Continuous Improvement Process, and QA program. • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality standards, including proper PPE use.

What You Bring
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, 2½ years of verifiable experience with tactical or heavy‑duty vehicles, and the ability to read technical manuals. A valid driver’s license, eligibility for a military operator’s permit, and U.S. citizenship or Green Card status are required; an ASE certification and related technical education are preferred. • Hold a high school diploma or GED; ASE certification preferred; 2.5 years relevant mechanical experience. • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a military operator’s permit. • U.S. citizen or Green Card holder meeting residency requirements; pass background check. • Ability to work night shift (3:30 PM‑12:00 AM) and tolerate extreme temperatures and physical demands.

Benefits
The position offers a rate of $45.16 per hour for a 40‑hour week, paid weekly, and is represented by the Teamsters Union.
