Inspector C - 2nd Shift (Quality)
Inspect and test transformers/regulators for quality compliance
Job Highlights
About the Role
The Inspector/Tester performs assembly inspection of transformers and regulators across multiple assembly plant locations, following established procedures. The role also includes conducting electrical testing on single‑phase and three‑phase units while monitoring conformance to quality standards. Core testing duties encompass routine dielectric tests such as OX, QC impulse, and hipot, as well as loss tests covering winding (load) and core (no‑load) losses. Additional tests include power factor, ratio, resistance, operational checks on regulators, continuity, and nameplate verification, followed by visual inspection of the unit interior after testing. The inspector handles minor maintenance of test equipment, applies decals and stencils, checks paint mileage, and performs visual inspections throughout the assembly process. Collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams is required to identify and resolve shop‑floor problems. • Conduct assembly inspection of transformers and regulators per procedures. • Perform electrical testing on single‑phase and three‑phase units. • Execute routine dielectric tests (OX, QC impulse, hipot) and loss tests (load and no‑load). • Carry out power factor, ratio, resistance, continuity, and operational regulator tests. • Verify and secure unit nameplates, then inspect interiors visually. • Perform minor maintenance on testing equipment. • Apply exterior decals/stencils and conduct paint mileage checks. • Assist engineering and manufacturing in troubleshooting shop‑floor issues.
