About the Role

As a Gensler Architectural Design Manager you will leverage attention to detail and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional architectural projects on time and within budget. You will act as the primary liaison between the team and client, deploying resources to ensure smooth work processes. This role is critical to the design and delivery of world‑class mixed‑use, residential, and convention‑center projects. You will lead project teams, manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, and set‑up with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and contractors. Responsibilities include preparing proposals, negotiating contracts and fees, bidding to multiple general contractors, and tracking financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate on design solutions, guide documentation and pricing, resolve technical issues, and coordinate approvals with consultants and authorities. • Lead client projects and project teams, communicating objectives, scope, terms, and schedule. • Manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project setup with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and contractors. • Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, and bid projects to multiple general contractors. • Track and manage financial performance, including work plans, schedules, fees, change orders, billings, and collections. • Oversee full project lifecycle from estimating and bidding through kickoff, coordination, punch list, turnover, opening, and close‑out. • Collaborate with team members on design solutions and documentation, guiding documentation and pricing. • Resolve complex technical and design issues to ensure project success. • Manage project specifications to align with design intent and requirements. • Coordinate with consultants and authorities to secure approvals and regulatory compliance.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field and have at least eight years of experience. A professional license or certification is preferred, along with strong knowledge of building materials, codes, zoning, accessibility, and engineering disciplines. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, project management software, and the Adobe Creative Suite is required. • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (or related field) with at least 8 years experience. • Professional license or certification preferred. • Demonstrated experience negotiating scope, fees, and managing project financials. • Strong knowledge of building materials, specifications, construction techniques, codes, zoning, and accessibility. • Extensive experience preparing construction documents, detailing, and field observation. • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project) and design tools (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, VRay, Adobe Creative Suite). • Essential understanding of engineering disciplines for technical infrastructure projects.
