About the Role

The Senior Business Analyst analyzes the needs of the Company’s most complex functional business areas within Republic Services, providing recommendations on system solutions or procedures. As the liaison between the business and IT department, the Senior Business Analyst ensures that the scope of work requested to enhance or modify existing application processes is clearly documented, communicated, and validated. The Senior Business Analyst works closely with IT experts to design, develop, document, test and validate solutions that meet business requirements and may be asked to lead projects and mentor other Business Analysts. Acts as a liaison with stakeholders to analyze the needs of various functional business areas while enhancing software and reinforcing business standards. Creates detailed documentation of functional, system, user, and reporting requirements, including use cases, logical models, process flow diagrams, report specifications, and data mapping diagrams. Performs research, feasibility analysis, and data profiling, supports functional and user acceptance testing, assists in creating ROI value propositions, helps define and control scope, works with IT managers on detailed work plans, and is responsible for status reporting, knowledge transfer, and implementation planning. Builds and maintains relationships with software vendors and implementation partners, mentors and reviews the work of other Business Analysts, and performs other duties as assigned. • Liaise with stakeholders to assess functional business needs and enhance software standards. • Document functional, system, user, and reporting requirements (use cases, models, flow diagrams, specifications, data mappings). • Conduct feasibility research, data profiling, and analysis for proposed projects. • Support functional and user acceptance testing throughout the development lifecycle. • Develop ROI value propositions and assist in scope definition and control. • Collaborate with IT managers to create detailed work plans and release schedules. • Provide status reporting, knowledge transfer, and implementation planning for software solutions. • Build and maintain relationships with software vendors and implementation partners. • Mentor, direct, and review the work of other Business Analysts.

What You Bring

Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) for data analysis and a Business Analysis or Project Management Professional certification are required. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer engineering, information systems, finance, statistics, computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required along with a minimum of five years of direct business analyst experience working with business systems, and at least one year of project management or coordination experience. • Utilize SQL for data analysis; hold Business Analysis or PMP certification. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; 5+ years business analyst experience and 1+ year project management experience.
