About the Role
The carpenter will set up trailers, interpret blueprints to determine material needs, and build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures. Responsibilities also include installing shelves and erosion‑control measures, hand‑setting forms, assisting journeymen with grading, handling prefabricated materials, and performing concrete and rough carpentry tasks such as walls, footings, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, millwork, and cabinetry. • Set up trailers. • Review blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and dimensions. • Build decks, stairs, roofs, and temporary structures; install shelves, tool trailers/conexes, silt fences, and straw bales per erosion control plan. • Hand‑set forms and assemble gang forms. • Assist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevations. • Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials. • Perform concrete and rough carpentry, including walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry. • Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels; perform other duties as assigned.
