About the Role

Leasing consultants meet with prospective residents, identify housing needs, interview candidates to confirm eligibility, and showcase vacant and model units along with property amenities. They quote rental rates and promotions, follow up with calls and literature, and collect application fees, security deposits, and rent payments. The role also requires managing all internet leads and maintaining active social‑media engagement to increase resident interaction. Consultants complete applicant screening, prepare appropriate correspondence, and draft leases and addendums while keeping lease records, waiting lists, and reports in compliance with affordable‑housing and HUD regulations. They ensure accurate use of on‑site property‑management software, inspect units for move‑in readiness, distribute keys and move‑in packages, and stay current on marketing techniques. Outreach efforts include cold calling, distributing literature, and partnering with community, religious, and government organizations, as well as mentoring newly hired leasing consultants. • Meet prospective residents, assess eligibility, and show units and amenities. • Quote rental rates, follow up leads, and collect application fees and deposits. • Manage internet leads and maintain social‑media engagement. • Screen applicants, prepare correspondence, and draft leases and addendums. • Maintain lease records, waiting lists, and ensure HUD/affordable‑housing compliance. • Use property‑management software for accurate data entry and reporting. • Inspect apartments before occupancy and distribute keys and move‑in packets. • Conduct marketing outreach, cold calls, and build community partnerships. • Mentor newly hired leasing consultants.

What You Bring

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED; 1–2 years of leasing or sales experience is required, with an associate degree in customer service or hospitality preferred. Knowledge of fair housing laws, affordable‑housing programs, Microsoft Office, and strong customer‑service skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include Yardi/CRM experience, multisite leasing background, and a valid driver’s license. Weekend work, including Saturdays and Sundays, may be required. • Required: High school diploma/GED and 1–2 years leasing or sales experience. • Preferred: Associate degree, multisite experience, Yardi/CRM proficiency, valid driver’s license.
